Curriculum Materials

If you are looking for a special program for your classroom curriculum, our Zoo education staff has developed some special lesson plans.
  • Animal Characteristics
A scavenger hunt sends students throughout Niabi Zoo to learn about our animals and their characteristics. Students will need to use observation, as well as information from the educational signage at each exhibit, to find the answers for each clue.
  • Endangered Animals - 4th Grade and Up
This scavenger hunt sends students throughout the Zoo to learn about our animals, while learning about endangered animals and the importance of conservation efforts. Students will need to use observation, as well as information from the educational signage at each exhibit, to find the answers for each clue.
  • Animal Detective
Students will search throughout the Zoo for an animal for each letter of the alphabet.
  • Aviary Scavenger Hunt
Students will learn about the Zoo’s Aviary on this scavenger hunt.
  • Rain Forest Detectives
Younger students (kindergarten and 1st grade) will be asked to locate rain forest animals. Older students will locate the animal, name the species, and in some cases the area of the rain forest where the animal can be found.
  • Reptile House Scavenger Hun
Students will learn about reptiles on this scavenger hunt.
  • World of Animals
