Education Is Our Mission
Welcome to the Niabi Zoological Society Education Department page! Niabi Zoo offers exciting programs, field trips, and "hands-on" activities for all age groups.
The mission of the education department is to constantly improve the educational value of the Zoo through continuous expansion and upgrading in the areas of exhibits, research opportunities, educational and volunteer programs, and personnel training.
The Kohler Discovery Center is located on Niabi Zoo grounds.
The center provides fun interactive displays and activities for all ages!
 Displays and hands-on activities will feature habitat. What makes up a habitat? What kinds of animals are found in different habitats? Visit the education center to learn more!
Multimedia
The computer stations feature educational software featuring animals. Also, visitors may watch a video from our collection in the center.
Animals
Visitors can view aquatic life in the center's aquarium which features a river ecosystem. Madagascar hissing cockroaches are also on display at the center. Coming Soon: Amphibians and their habitats!
Leaping Learning Library
Books, puzzles, zoo crafts and color sheets are available for children of all ages. A variety of tangibles, including feathers, shells, and bones are available, providing a "hands-on"experience. |
