If you are familiar with the constellations in the sky, you may have noticed that many of them are named for animals. In early space exploration, before humans went to space, animals in rockets were sent in our place. Learn about these animal astronauts and the human fascination for seeing animals in the night sky as we celebrate Animals in Space!
Join us for the 90th Anniversary of the Popular Astronomy Club, which has been a long-time partner with the Zoo. They have been observing the stars and planets from the Niabi Zoo parking lot for decades.

- Visit the PAC mobile observatory to see our nearest star. Also, see some space rocks up close that are literally from out of this world!
- See nearly 600 exotic and native animals from around this planet.
- Wearing costumes or outfits representing your favorite astronauts and space/sci-fi series (Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, Dr. Who, etc.) is highly encouraged.
No registration required. This event is included with regular Zoo admission.
