Habitat Preferences

As the name indicates, the Baja Blue Rock Lizard inhabits largely boulder-laden hillsides, rocky canyons, rocky bottoms and cliff sides. It prefers to bask in direct sunlight. If disturbed when basking, the lizard flattens its body and retreats between rocky crevices.

Cannibalism

This lizard is an omnivore. It consumes flowers, seeds, small fruits and insects, and has even been observed to cannibalize its own, smaller individuals.
