Title: The Wonders of Wetlands

Description: Wetlands are some of nature’s richest and most productive ecosystems. Unfortunately, over the past 150 years, over 90% of Iowa and Illinois’s wetlands have been destroyed. Brian Ritter will discuss the value of wetlands, the plants and animals that call them home, and the story of Nahant Marsh’s journey to restore this unique Quad Cities treasure. The restoration of these local wetlands has seen the return of native species such as Bald Eagles, cranes, Blandings turtles, otters, mink and more.
