Zoo Preview of Prairie Dogs & More!
This FREE special preview of the Zoo is for Zoo Members and Donors for the Prairie Dog exhibit. Guests will go on group tours with conservation educators and meet zookeepers at the Prairie Dog exhibit, the African Painted Dog habitat, and the African Primates newly renovated indoor space in the Giraffe/Primate building, which hasn’t been open since 2019. The tour of all locations will last approximately 45 minutes. After which, you are free to explore the rest of the Zoo and visit the Gift Shop.
We encourage you to arrive early so that you have the opportunity to meet conservationist, Travis Livieri, at the Prairie Dog exhibit between 9am-10am during the tours. You can also register to hear Travis at Niabi’s Conservation Speaker Series in the Zoo Discovery Center at 10:30am as he presents From the Grasslands to the Zoo: The Importance of Prairie Dogs.
